Lianna Pisani is a journalist and creative writer based out of Sudbury, Canada. She is currently obtaining an undergraduate degree from Laurentian University, double majoring in English, specializing in Rhetoric and Media Studies, and Modern Languages, specializing in Italian Studies. She plans to attend graduate school.
Throughout the 2011-13 school years, Lianna acted as an executive member of the English Arts Society at Laurentian University. She assisted in editing Sulphur, the EAS and Lambda literary journal. Since September 2011, Lianna began contributing to the Lambda, and has been a staff writer for the paper since January 2012. She writes a fashion column, profiling Laurentian University students with great style, and reports on both hard and soft news stories. As of March 2012, Lianna has been a student blogger for Laurentian, sharing her varsity experiences with current and prospective students.
Lianna has been published in various publications, including Sulphur I, Terra North/Nord E-zine, Science North, and acted in the film Introspection. She also attended World MasterCard Fashion Week in March 2012, and was recognized by publications like Huffington Post, Toronto Life, and Elle Canada.
In her spare time, which generally proves to be quite rare, Lianna designs and creates jewelry collections with an assortment of gemstones and wires. The collections can be found and purchased at the Art Gallery of Sudbury.
Lianna adores fashion, music, concerts, literature, film, and photography. She loves The Academy Is..., singing, Lykke Li, Toronto, The Catcher in the Rye, reading, Blow-Up, traveling, Harry Potter, Michael Kors, Barbra Streisand, volunteering, Paris, Funny Girl, make-up, Bon Iver, black ink, Edith Piaf, and The Golden Girls.
